Curiolos ISTD
- Designer Jen Robbie
The brief was to produce an appropriate typographic response that explores lesser known methods and obscure ways people have Put Things in Order, bringing a fresh interpretation to the topic.
The aim of the project was to give a deeper appreciation of how different criteria for the order and curation of personal collections can significantly influence our understandings of the world throughout the centuries. By exploring the cabinet of curiosities, the reader can gain a different perspective of collection criteria, and celebrate the cabinet’s perceived randomness, juxtapositions and hidden connections between object and artefact.
This project aimed to explore how famous personal collections are organised using different criteria, in addition to discovering how the cabinets were significant in shaping our knowledge of the world and the concept of order.
